The Guggenheim Grotto Reflects on U.S. Tour, Looks Forward to the Fall

Kevin and Mick of The Guggenheim Grotto spent June and July covering a great amount of ground stateside on their second U.S. tour of the year. Just days after returning home, a jet lagged but happy Kevin May commented on their latest adventures in the U.S.

"The last two months we spent touring the states brought some wonderful new experiences for us," he said. "Our first gig of the tour in Boulder, Colorado was special not just for being invited onto Etown but also for getting the opportunity to play alongside Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane. The finale of the show was a Guggenheim, Kaukonen and The Etones cover of Come Together by the Beatles."

"Another highlight of our tour was getting the opportunity to open for four of Ani DiFranco's dates at the end of July. My particular high point on these dates was in the 4000 plus capacity venue of Artpark in Lewiston NY, where myself and Mick performed an especially good rendition of The Universe is Laughing - just two vocals and a Ukulele. It was magic"

Back at home in Dublin, Kevin and Mick are beginning to pen their next album. The band will be back for another tour in the U.S. this fall.
