Enter the Haggis plays Tuesday
How do you know when you’ve made it?No, it’s not the limos, the groupies, the endless stream of phone calls or the deluge of strangers who all of a sudden find it absolutely essential to become your Facebook “friends.”
No, far more significant is the addition of the word “head”after your band name. This denotes that you now have an audience large enough to claim an identity of its own, based on a shared love of your music. Hence, Deadheads, Phish heads, Umphrey’s heads and the like.
Add another to the list. “Haggis heads” are a fiery troupe of converts to the considerable charms of Celtic-rock fusion outfit Enter the Haggis. Their ardor for the lads is easy to understand, given the distinctively irreverent abilities of the Haggis bunch to delve into everything from funk to art-rock to jam-band stylings, while never losing the ability to make all of this sound distinctly Celtic. Slainte, boys.
Enter the Haggis will aim to prep you for St. Patrick’s Day with a show at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Shannon Pub(2250 Niagara Falls Blvd.).Advance tickets are available at the Shan-non Pub for $15; admission at the door will be $20.
