Greetings from UFO!
Well, it just got warm and the weather is beautiful in NYC. We're resisting the temptation, however, to ditch our office and this business of music for the lucrative world of jet ski rental in Key West. No, we're not going anywhere...especially since there are some exciting things on the horizon. Read on to hear about singles, a new distributed label involving some Invasion Group management clients, tours and a whole lot of NPR. Label News Eusonia
UFO would like to introduce a new distributed label, Eusonia Records.
Founded in 2007 by Grammy Award-winning Producer/Writer/Engineer Scott Jacoby, at Eusonia, art comes before commerce, innovation before mimicry, integrity before celebrity, music before everything. Eusonia is dedicated to creating and releasing timeless, artistic, trend-setting music, regardless of restrictive genres, categories and radio formats. Look for the debut release from Maiysha, "This Much is True, " later this Summer. The single "Orbit," is now available on iTunes. Range Records
UFO distributed label Range Records just released Rediscovering Lonnie Johnson on March 25, and the record is already getting some notable publicity. Featuring contemporary Philadelphia blues musicians, the album is a tribute record to the late-20s, early-30s blues legend and features reinterpretations of his most loved works.
Producer Aaron Levinson, the mastermind behind the project, wanted a fresh take on Lonnie. That's why he stayed away from specialists in vintage music and went almost exclusively with Philadelphia-based blues musicians. Listen to a great feature the album received on NPR's All Things Considered last week, here.

JESS KLEIN

Jess Klein is touring nationally supporting Damien Dempsey. Some may not realize that Jess cites Dempsey's album "Shots" as one of her major inspirations for "City Garden. According to Jess, "he was the first contemporary acoustic singer-songwriter I'd heard channel so much passion into his work, and it made me feel safe to do the same." Consequently, Jess is looking forward to singing a few songs Damien. It's her first time on the road with the label mate, but not her first time opening for Irish-heavy crowds. Jess recalls her days opening for The Saw Doctors and feels she's up for the cross-cultural challenge. "I've been inspired by so many Irish musicians like the Saw Doctors and Luka Bloom, and appreciating music seems to be such a part of Irish culture that I always feel right at home" says Jess.
Damien Dempsey and Jess Klein will perform the following dates:
April 20 - Milwaukee, WI - Shank Hall
April 22 - Ann Arbor, MI - The Ark
April 23 - Chicago, IL - Schubas
April 24 - Toronto, ON - The Horseshoe Tavern

If you're not in NYC, you can check the Fearless TV Myspace blog for the local time and station in your area. Please also log onto www.fearlessmusic.tv to vote for Black 47. The band with the most votes will be featured again next weekend.
In other most recent promotion for the album, Larry did an interview on WDST in Woodstock, NY last week and had a great discussion on PRI's program The World that you can listen to here. A stellar review just ran in The Big Takeover, in which Steve Holtje proclaimed, "...when the bitter "Battle of Fallujah' and the beautifully sad 'Ramadi' respectively suggest Dylan and Springsteen at the top of their topical games, that's an idea of the level on which Black 47 is capable of operating." Read the full review here.

April 27 - Tampa, FL - Four Green Fields
May 4 - Chatham, NY - Celebration of Celts
