Greetings from United For Opportunity:

Fall has been an exciting few months at UFO with album releases, tours and radio appearances. But just because its getting cold outside, doesn't mean we're going into hibernation-tours are still kicking and the folks at UFO are busy planning more for next year.

THE GUGGENHEIM GROTTO
...Waltzing Alone

BUY CD

It's been quite a month for The Guggenheim Grotto! In the midst of their first U.S. Tour, they have managed to squeeze in radio appearances at WFUV's The Whole Wide World with Rita Houston in New York (rebroadcast Nov. 21 at 9:00PM), World Cafe with David Dye in Philadelphia (airing Nov. 8) and Mountain Stage (broadcast date tba). Their song "Vertigo," from the album ...Walzing Alone, appeared on ABC's new hit show Six Degrees on Thursday, November 2. They also recorded a podcast for the folks at Paste Magazine in Atlanta.

Enchanting crowds across the country, TGG is certainly making an impact on American ears, and America is making an impact on them. "So far the tour has been a wonderful experience. We've played in amazing venues to amazing audiences and seen far too much to make sense of it all," said Kevin. "We're already planning to come back in February."

For full details on the tour check this update. Also, check the band out on their remaining dates if you're in town.

ENTER THE HAGGIS
Soapbox Heroes

BUY CD

Enter The Haggis is making their way back across the country after completing their first tour of the West Coast. With gigs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and Seattle, you can be sure the western shore now has a new perspective on Celtic rock. The band continues to rock club venues for the rest of the year.

Having won hearts at festivals in the beer hall haven of Germany to the cornfields of Nebraska, ETH has broad horizons ahead of them. For the first time, ETH is West Coast bound, playing dates in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and more in support of their most recent album, Soapbox Heroes. "We toured through the desert and mountains, ending up on the west coast," said Craig Downie. "The scenery was great and so were the people we met. It's a rewarding feeling - winning over new audiences and gaining momentum as performing artists."

And no longer will fans have to brave the festival scene-ETH is moving from these sometimes muddy, often mosquito-friendly fields to intimate solo shows. "As the festival season winds down, this upcoming tour gives us an opportunity to establish ourselves in new music clubs," says Downie. Audiences will now be able to enjoy the distinctive blend of bagpipes, bluegrass and rock that ETH masterfully combines to present a unique concert experience. "We're always up for a challenge. And a beer." That's the spirit, guys!

DAMIEN DEMPSEY
Shots

BUY CD

After much ado, Irish folk hero Damien Dempsey is back home in Ireland after crossing the States to promote his newest record, Shots. And while some of the venues were a tad smaller than the 1,500 seaters he plays in Ireland, Damo has proven that there is no better way to experience him than in an intimate setting. His intense performances drew in new fans along the way, and surely impressed longtime Damo lovers.

"The tour of the US was mighty,' says Damo. "I didn't know if anyone was going to show but we got a crowd in every city we went to, places I'd never set foot in before. And we even got people singing along in many places, which has always been a dream for me; to hear people singing my songs in a different accent! I know I can pull bigger crowds if I keep coming back. And I'll be back-just try and stop me!"

A man of his word, Damien will return to NYC on November 30 to play a night at Sin-e. In January Damo will be part of the 2007 Fleadh Tour in Ireland and the UK which also features Willie Nelson.

NEWS AND NOTES FROM INVASION GROUP MANAGEMENT

We also wanted to fill you in on some big things happening with our management clients.

Mary Fahl is most known for her angelic voice at the helm of the October Project. Her latest effort, a solo album titled "From The Dark Side of the Moon" is equally as dream-like and stunning as her past efforts. The album revisits and reinterprets Pink Floyd's legendary "Dark Side Of The Moon" record and Fahl is looking at an early 2007 release.

Soon, though, fans will be able to see a different side of Mary when she appears in Murder Mystery Blues, a play inspired by the short stories of Woody Allen. Having already played to rave reviews in London's West End, Mary stars in the anticipated New York production. Murder Mystery Blues will run from Novermber 24 through December 31 at The Primary Stages in New York.

Jai Uttal's eclectic east meets-west sound has put his music at the forefront of the world fusion movement. Recently, Jai has been touring the States leading kirtan ecstatic chanting evenings (kirtan being the ancient yoga of chanting or singing to God). He took o the craft during frequent trips to Indie, where he spent time with many great beings of both the Hindu and Buddhist traditions.

Recently, Jai's work was performed in a theatrical presentation of Sitaram at Chicago's Looking Glass Theatre with the participation of the Chicago Children's Chorus.

He'll be performing dates on the West Coast before heading back to the studio to finish work on his next solo album. Check his website for tour information at www.jaiuttal.com.

Global electronic music composer, producer and DJ, Karsh Kale, has been hard at work completing production on his next album with Anoushka Shankar, daughter of world famous sitarist Ravi Shankar. Special guests on the record include Sting, Nora Jones and, of course, Ravi himself. Look for updates on Karsh at www.karshkale.com.
