To celebrate the release of her new solo album Mutatis Mutandis through UFO label partner Righteous Babe, Nona Hendryx is embarking on her first tour since 2008's Labelle reunion tour — and you can be a part of it! Pledge to the campaign for such exclusive packages as VIP concert tickets, a chance to visit Nona and the band during rehearsal, signed concert posters, and copies of the new album.
A Chameleon and a Nightbird, singer-songwriter Nona morphed from the 20th century into the 21st in three incarnations: a member of 60's R&B girl group The Bluebelles who evolved into the 70's Gospel Funk of Labelle and the iconic hit "Lady Marmalade" before becoming a solo artist in the 80's & 90's. Nona's career in each decade was a trip unimagined. As the new century began, Nona shed her old skin for yet another: multimedia performance in an "AUDIO TUTU," a plexiglass tutu with built-in speakers, wireless remote-controlled visuals & manipulating electronic music. A hidden skin starting to reveal itself is Nona's digital art, her Digital Hearts, Abstract Lightbox digital paintings and Digital Colorscapes have added new layers and sounds to Nona's work.
From Nona: "The CD title, Mutatis Mutandis, is a legal term and means 'faces and names will change but things remain the same.' I chose the title and was moved to write and record the CD by the major events and changes on the worlds stage in the last 12 years, initiated by the 'black swan' event, 9/11."
Your Pledge gives you the unique opportunity to be a part of this tour and CD release!
